Common questions related to your account and our service.

That depends on what day of the week you sign up and place your first order. The cutoff for orders is every Tuesday evening at midnight CST, so if you sign up and order before that cutoff, your first order will arrive this Sunday evening. If you order past that cutoff, you should expect a delivery the following Sunday.

We believe in sustainability, so our packaging reflects that vision.  Our food packaging is made from recycled tree pulp, so it is fully biodegradable.  The lids are made of food-safe polypropylene plastic and can be recycled.

Yes, once you are a customer you may visit the referral page to send a special new customer coupon code for 20% off to anyone you like.  After their first delivery, you’ll get a $20 credit off your next delivery.

Yes, you can pause at any time.  Simply login and go to ‘My Account‘ and navigate to ‘Meal Plans’ and select the ‘View’ button next to the meal plan and then click the ‘suspend’ button.  Your meal plan will be suspended until you reactivate your meal plan.  We will send out a notice each week that your meal plan continues on hold.  Please suspend your subscription before Tuesday to ensure you are not charged for that upcoming Sunday delivery.

We prepare our dishes at the commercial kitchen in a commercial kitchen on the north side of La Crosse

Our containers are cleaned and sanitized in a high-temperature commercial grade dishwashing machine using a combination of high-temperature sanitizer as well as a commercial grade, food safe sanitizer product.  We air-dry to prevent any type of residual moisture as well.  We only reuse our black containers as they are designed safe to do so by the NSF; we do not reuse any of our deli-style containers for the same reason.

Billing

Your meal plan subscription fee will be automatically processed every Wednesday on the payment option you originally signed up with.

A la carte is only charged when you select meals and check out.

Our unique business model does not require us to charge tax in Wisconsin.

We accept credit and debit cards from most major carriers except American Express.  You can also use PayPal if you prefer.  No cash option at this time.

A La Carte

Common questions related to how a la carte works.

A la carte is a choose your own meals option, meaning you will need to come to our website each week and pick your meals from our a la carte menu. We will send you a reminder email each week with the new menu.  You will need to pick out your meals by the end of Wednesday each week in order to get a delivery for that upcoming Sunday.  You are only billed when you select meals that week.  If you don’t pick out meals that week then you will not be billed.  No commitments.

Nope.  A la carte offers flexibility so that you are only charged when you pick out your meals.  If you don’t pick out any meals that week you will not be charged.

Food

Common questions related to our meals and food we use.

At this time, we do not offer meal plans specific to these dietary choices, however, we do offer meals that fit these criteria.  We suggest to anyone following a specific diet to order via a la carte so that you are able to choose your meals.  Meals are labeled for all of the above diets as well as dairy and many common food allergies.

If you have any type of food allergy or dietary restriction, we recommend that you contact us to discuss.  Each meal description on our weekly menu or a la carte page includes icons of common food allergies.  Also, we include a nutrition label with specific allergy information for each dish.

Most of your meals will keep fresh either in the fridge or at room temperature for 5-7 days.  There are some exceptions, of course.  All meal labels offer an expiration date and optimal method of storage for maximum freshness.  You may also freeze your dishes if you need to extend the expiration date.

We change the menu offerings weekly.  We change out our seasonal offerings when the seasons shift about every 12 weeks.  This may vary depending on the availability of seasonal ingredients.

Most of our dishes are mild spicy and have been tested by others that don’t like spicy hot food.  Our chef doesn’t enjoy really spicy hot foods either.

There are reheating instructions on the label of each dish, because it will vary depending on the food.  Most of the time you can either reheat directly in the microwave or you can transfer to a plate and reheat in the oven, on the stove, or in a toaster oven if you’d prefer.

Yes, we do offer some substitutions on a case by case basis.  If you don’t like a specific ingredient we can sometimes offer you a different dish.  Please contact us for more information.  If you are on a subscription meal plan we may suggest trying our a la carte option so you may choose your own meals and avoid the dishes you don’t prefer.

We use organic ingredients as often as possible, however, we do not guarantee that every ingredient is 100% organic.  Everything is, however, responsibly sourced from local/regional, sustainable, and reputable sources.

We believe in real food, so we don’t use any trans fats such as canola or vegetable oil.  We use a variety of different cooking fats including oils such as olive, coconut, and avocado, as well as other fats such as butter, duck fat, and ghee (clarified butter).

All dishes come with a side dish except salads and soups.  Each meal that comes with a side dish is clearly marked on our menu.

Delivery

Common questions related to how delivery works.

We currently deliver to La Crosse, Onalaska, West Salem, and Holmen, with plans to expand further down the road.  If you live outside the delivery area and would still like to order, you can arrange to pick up your food or a delivery fee in some cases.  You can contact us at support@farmdish.com to get set up.  See our coverage area for more details.

Yes, of course.  If you live in a secure building, you’ll want to leave the door/gate codes in the instructions.  You can also leave specific instructions as to where you’d like your delivery bag to be placed, such as at the back door, in front of the garage, on the porch, etc.  You can place this information in the delivery notes during checkout.  Otherwise, simply contact us and we can add the delivery note to your account.

Yes.  If these items are not returned within 3 weeks of the delivery we may assess a fee for each item.  In order to keep our prices low, we reuse these items.  We will make one attempt to pick up these items from you before assessing any fees.  Please refer to our bag policy for more information:  farmdish.com/return-policy

The delivery bags and ice packs should be returned for reuse; you should leave these out on Sunday evening so that we can collect them when we drop off your weekly delivery.  The food packaging should be rinsed out and placed inside the delivery bag as well.

We have extras!  Simply leave it out (along with your bag from the current week) before your following delivery and we’ll pick them both up at the same time.

Subscriptions

Common questions related to how subscription plans work.

The subscription plan is hands-off, meaning you will not choose any of your meals. Upon signup, you will choose how many of each meal you would like, then we will choose your specific dishes each week and deliver them for a simple, stress-free, hands-off experience.

You may cancel your plan/account by filling out this request form.  Or you can login to ‘My Account’ and navigate to ‘Contact’ section and fill out the form.  For a la carte customers, there is no need to cancel as you are not being automatically billed.
